Young Raptor Management and Release

A little ball of fluff is delivered to your doorstep - now what?  In this course, you will learn best practices for reintegrating healthy young raptors back into the wild.  Protocols for re-nesting, fostering, and raising young raptors in captivity will be shared, along with principles of hard and soft (hack) releases.

This 3-week online course shares information on options for reintegrating healthy young raptors back into the wild.  You will learn how to reunite young raptors with their families, the considerations for fostering young raptors into nests of conspecifics, and best practices for raising them if no other options are available. This course will also present techniques and considerations for releasing young raptors back into the wild using hard and soft (hack) releases. This course offers up to 3 continuing education credits, as certified by Minnesota’s Board of Veterinary Medicine.

There is a weekly, live interaction with an instructor each Tuesday night of this course from 7:00 p.m. CT to approximately 8:30 p.m. CT. These live presentations will be recorded for alternative viewing times.
