This may come as no surprise, but raptors don’t have an ambulance they can call when they get injured.
So how does an injured raptor all the way up in northern Minnesota make its way south to The Raptor Center (TRC) in the Twin Cities? Just like everything else at TRC, it’s all thanks to the unwavering selflessness of our volunteers.
In 2024, TRC’s transport volunteers drove a total of 95,092 miles to rescue and return wild raptors. That is just shy of driving around the Earth at its equator four times! It’s one more example of how TRC is going above and beyond to fulfill its mission of ensuring the health of raptors and the world we share.
