While there is currently no scientific evidence that raptors can contract or carry the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19, the pandemic has impacted us at The Raptor Center (TRC) in a number of ways. Most notably, we have had to cancel our educational programming, suspend our volunteer program, limit our on-site staff, and close our doors to the public. However, we also understand that the needs of wildlife have not changed and neither has our commitment to raptors. Rest assured that we are still providing for the birds in our care and will continue to do so as long as we are able.

Our educational programming, in-person trainings, and on-site tours provide essential revenue to keep education birds fed and clinic patients cared for. Suspending these opportunities leaves a concerning gap as we strive to continue our lifesaving services. So, for those who are able, we encourage supporters to maintain annual or recurring gifts to best help us continue our work. Two loyal long-term donors have issued a challenge match of $80,000 to help motivate others to contribute to TRC at this challenging time. Donations can be made on our secure giving site at z.umn.edu/raptor

We could not ask for a better group of supporters and are so very grateful that you share in our mission and our daily work. We greatly miss seeing our friends, the volunteers and supporters at the heart of TRC, and hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy during this time.
