Partners for Wildlife (P4W) Request for Proposals

January 5, 2026: Partners for Wildlife is seeking proposals for grant-based projects from wildlife rehabilitators and rehabilitation organizations throughout the program's seven-state focus area. P4W seeks to support projects and activities that will advance and improve the welfare of wild animals entering the wildlife rehabilitation system as well as support the wellbeing of professionals who do this critical work. Please read below to learn more about project requirements, eligibility, and application instructions. If you have questions, please email Rob Kulhanek, P4W Program Director, at [email protected].

Theme + Goals

Partners for Wildlife has observed and been kept informed by many of our network partners about recent (within the last 2-4 years) surges in caseloads, particularly during the "busy season" of the summer months. Many of our partner organizations and individual rehabilitators in our network have experienced particularly sharp increases in the last couple of seasons due to a multitude of factors, including HPAI, inclement weather events, and other climatological factors. While increasing patient intakes have been a longer-term reality for most rehabilitators, these recent increases have been particularly challenging for some organizations to manage given limits on space, resources, and personnel. Given that the particular pain points for any individual professional or organization may vary widely, P4W is issuing this call with an eye for broad applicability and flexibility. The proposal form (linked below) focuses on communicating the particular challenges faced, the solutions or support plans envisioned, and the sustainability intended in the longer term. In order to determine a proposal's overall eligibility, P4W requests specific, thorough, and honest responses to all the questions in the form.
